
Full course description
CIRCAA is a practical, case-based, interprofessional learning experience led by a team of aging and healthcare specialists at the Virginia Geriatrics Education Center. The curriculum prepares clinicians and educators to work with patients, learners, care providers, and interprofessional teams to care for people aging with complex medical conditions.
Monthly Meetings & Retreats
This program includes monthly seminars (September - June), independent study, an interprofessional practicum, and a capstone project. CIRCAA participants will meet in-person as often as possible, with an option to attend virtually. Scholars must attend at least 70% of the meetings.
Practicum
Scholars participate in the Richmond Health and Wellness Program, an innovative, interprofessional care coordination and wellness clinic that models age-friendly care of older adults in low-income housing communities.
Capstone Project
Scholars will incorporate CIRCAA content and experience with a topic of their choosing to develop a curriculum or action plan which they will develop, implement and evaluate.
